CMS-HT is a starch-based filtrate controller. It is designed to work at high temperature in water-base mud. If CMS-HT is tested as per the specification of drilling grade starch in API 13A/ISO13500, namely in 4% salt mud and in saturated salt mud, plus hot roll both test mud at 140oC (284°F) for 16 hours, CMS-HT will fully meet the specification of API 13A/ISO13500.
CMS-HT is made from starch through carboxymethylation and special treatment, to be able to hydrate in cold water and brine, and to work at higher temperature than conventional carboxymethyl starch.
CMS-HT does not need an activating temperature. If it is working at the temperature below 140°C (284°F), for instance as low as room temperature, it can also work properly and meet the technical requirement of API 13A/ISO13500.
CMS-HT is friendly to environment and presents little toxicity to human body.
